Other things to consider
You could improve your energy efficiency and reduce your bills dramatically by installing insulation, double glazing and draught-proofing – this will ensure you get the most out of your renewable technology. From April 2012 you will also need an Energy Performance Certificate or EPC before installing renewable energy in your home. We can advise you on a list of local trusted companies who can offer these products and services – all will offer you free advice.
After your installation
Check with your home insurance provider to make sure your policy covers the changes to your home, and make any adjustments you need.
Make sure you have warranties on your products and installations – this will add to your peace of mind and could cut your future costs.

Consider booking an annual service contract with Ace Energy – we offer regular discounts to our renewable energy customers. We also have a plumbing and heating division which may be of use to you now or in the future.
Keep a record of energy generated as your energy supplier will require this – usually every quarter. From this they will calculate how much they owe you for your renewable energy generation – and exported power is you have PV fitted.
